With each passing year Cathedral Square Friends continues to expand our popular Color the Square initiative, so one day soon Cathedral Square will be completely filled with colorful flower baskets. In year one we hung flower baskets from eight light poles, then eleven light poles last summer, and next year? We’re hoping to have fifteen light poles with hanging flower baskets. But we need your help to do so. To make a small donation you can contribute here.
The sponsor-funded project has delighted visitors for two summers now. From those who attended concerts and other events in the Square to those eating lunch, playing games, or just enjoying the park. Even those just passing the Square on The Hop could enjoy the flower baskets overflowing with color.
As the project has been so well received, this new effort will concentrate on getting funding for eight more baskets to be hung on four other poles.
So far we have raised $2,275 towards this year’s effort, but need $13,500 to expand the program to fifteen light poles. If you want to help out you can contribute to Color the Square here.
